It is of utmost importance that the aging population is kept as safe as possible during these times. Luckily, there are a few things that we can all do in an effort to keep them as safe as possible.
As much as you likely do not want to hear it, keeping your distance and withholding from making visits is the best thing that you can do for your family member in elder care. The thought of not being able to see a family member during this time can be a bit frightening, but rest assured that they will be kept in great hands here at Trinity Home and Health Agency as we will do everything in our power to uphold an environment that is as safe as possible. This does not mean that you need to cut off all contact, instead consider making regular phone calls and video chats. This will let them know that you are thinking about them despite the fact that you can not be physically with them and is sure to bring a smile to their face. The distraction provided by a conversation is sure to really make a big difference in their general attitude.
Furthermore, everyone likes a nice treat every once in a while. Regardless of whether it is fresh baked cookies or a batch of brownies, dropping off a special treat lets your loved one know that you are keeping them in your thoughts. As mentioned above, you shouldn’t make personal contact in efforts to avoid infection, but if you are in the North Richland area you can absolutely drop off a treat at our front desk and we will ensure that the gift makes it to your loved one. Life has changed, but that doesn’t mean that happy days aren’t still possible.
